Whew! Senior design and all the other final projects are just about over. Schoolwork really picked up around March, and I haven't found much time for posting new stuff. Sorry to everyone who's sent e-mails or left comments that I've been slow to respond to.

I just posted a new write-up. I've been playing with Wiimote data lately, and I always wanted to combine it with the Dollar Recognizer I finally got the chance, so now there's a really simple example program for recognizing Wiimote gestures. Now... what should I use it for?

Lastly, a friend convinced me to join Twitter - follow me, if you like.

This Friday is Engineering Open house at the University of Illinois. A bunch of students and groups show off projects and research and other work they've been doing.

This year, I'm showing Stephanie, so if you're in the area, come check it out! I'll be in room 101 in the Transportation building.

So it turns out Hackaday could crash my x10Hosting site in just a couple of days :) Not that I'm complaining; that's what it was there for!

However, I didn't much like having the site down - so I looked around and got the site setup again at GoDaddy. If you subscribed to the short-lived RSS feed, you'll need to change its URL (now http://absolutemaximumratings.com/feed.xml.

If you're looking for free hosting, I would highly recommend x10Hosting - they were great! Just couldn't stand up to getting linked from Hackaday. So far, the support at GoDaddy has been great - but I'm a bit peeved at the lack of PHP 5. Setting the site back up required redoing some code that was using PHP 5 functions. Still, it looks like they're slated to update this in about half a month - I'll live.

RSS Feed

First, I want to say to everyone commenting at hackaday and here - thank you! I've had an overwhelmingly positive response to Stephanie, and I really appreciate the kind words!

I've seen a few people saying they'd like to see more information about it posted sometime. I pondered what the best way to notify people of updates would be and I settled on RSS. The whole 'Really Simple' part of it is nice, because I was able to throw it all together quickly. It's not ENTIRELY tested out - posting this entry will be my first test of whether it will automatically rebuild the feed or not.

There's now an RSS button at the bottom of the page that links to the feed, which is located at http://absolutemaximumratings.com/feed.xml.

Okay, I'm finally calling the Stephanie page done - for awhile. There's a (low res and long distance) video demoing some of her functions, and I have the source code posted along with a bunch of pictures and descriptions.

But I guess there really wasn't any contest...

I still need to flesh out the Project links and add a bunch of other stuff, but I think this site is coming together pretty well so far.
